Crossing the numerous thrilling suspension bridges, evergreen pine forest, blue pine, rhododendron. Numerous chortens, prayer flags, and small stupas which correspond to Buddhism make our trekking more spiritual and peaceful. As we are heading towards higher altitude, our body needs to adapt to the Himalayan atmosphere and climate. So, we let our bodies acclimatize with the mountain environment. Thankfully, Namche has many things to explore since it's the capital of the Everest region and home of the sherpas. On this day, we will hike to Everest View Point, and later we will explore the Everest View Hotel. This hotel is regarded as the highest star hotel in the world, which lies in a 3880m altitude. The moment will be so precious when we will take our coffee/tea and Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and numerous mountains will be in front of us to cheer us. Many other beautiful mountains like Thamserku, Kongde, Kusum Kanguru, and Nuptse can be easily explored from this place. The National Park museum offers information about Everest and related mountains, which lies just near the Sherpa Museum. There is a small Airport- Syangboche Airport, on the head of Namche Bazaar, from where you can also capture the beautiful pictures of Namche. Later, when we return back to the main town, we can explore the good restaurants, coffee shops for the more varieties of food. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
Before starting to our today’s trek to the small and beautiful villae in the lap of the Tawache (a holy mountain peak) we enjoy our tasty and powerful breakfast. The beginning of the trek is quite easy, straight and, flatten trail until Kyanjoma. From here, usually, Gokyo routes and the Everest Base camp routes separate.
Today’s route is regarded as the most scenic day for the entire trek. This day will be the combination of the amazing sight of sky-touching mountains, small villages, stupas, monasteries, rhododendron flowers, pine forest and sometimes we might encounter rare animals. We will climb a few and descend to the level of Dudhkoshi again before reaching the village. On the way, we will find numerous chortens and Buddhism related artifacts. Later, we will pass through the Mohang, this place is famous for the birthplace of re-incarnated lama monk of Rongbuk Monastery of Tibet and it believes that he is one who brings Buddhism in Khumbu region. Overnight stay at a comfortable accommodation in Photse village.
The breathtaking views of the mountains welcome us in the early morning. After a warm and tasty breakfast will energize us to climb to another beautiful village Machhermo. There are few waterfalls on the way and, rhododendron forest makes our day more exciting. We continue our uphill trek and pass Dole, Tongba and, Luza village before reaching to Machhermo village. Throughout today’s trek, the Dudhkoshi river will be our partner which follows until Gokyo. Machhermo is the last town of the horizon before we reach Gokyo. This is also the place where people of the Khumbu region saw the Yeti for the very first time in 1974. Overnight stay in beautiful Machhermo village.
Today is the Gokyo lakes sightseeing day. These lakes systems are the highest freshwater lakes system. The valley looks much wider and bigger than previous days and we will pass through the elevated grazing land Phangkha. There is a small memorial who lost their lives in 1995 avalanche and, almost 40 people were killed in that avalanche.
This route offers a stunning view of Thamserku, Khongtega, and Cho Oyu in the northern part including the breathtaking wider and, broad mountain terrain. We will descend while before climbing to the feet of the Ngazumpa Glacier where we will meet the first lake name as Longpongo. After few times following by st lakes takes to the second and third lake; which is also called the main lake and Gokyo lake as well. Once we reach the main lake, the tranquillity of the lake and village can easily observe on the face of the main lake including a mesmerizing view of Cho Oyu mountain. After lunch, we can explore the lake and, and warm sleep near the beautiful lake.
Note: If the weather is clean and you are more interested in chasing the sunset, you can visit Gokyo Ri on the same day.
Another acclimatization day in the beautiful Gokyo village will spend by exploring the Gokyo valley. Early morning, we will wake up around 4 am and hike to the Gokyo Ri. Gokyo Ri is one of the most famous and stunning viewpoints in the Khumbu region. For both sunrise and, sunset, this viewpoint is astonishing. We can experience the 360-degree view of sky-dominating mountains including four eight thousand meters above. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu including 100s of other stunning mountains are easily observe from the Gokyo Ri. Amazing view of Ngazumpa Glacier, Gokyo lakes system and, extraordinary mountain terrain extra satisfaction in our heart.
After a few times of rest and lunch, we will trek to Thagnak through the Ngozumpa glacier. The mostly trail is flat and straight. We will be walking down the valley on the east part of the glacier moraine and, the whole atmosphere and scenery are undoubtedly stunning and beautiful. We will reach Yak grazing land where Tawache and Cholatse peaks are just close to us. Overnight stay at Thagnak.
The toughest day of our trekking journey and Chola pass is the highest pass (5420m) in the Khumbu region. After a couple of hours of uphill trek from Thagnak takes us to the top of the Chola pass. The eastern side of the pass contains slippery ice which makes our trail more difficult. Sometimes, the trail is narrow and sometimes there might be the falling of rocks form the mountains. So, we need to be more careful in such an area. The top of the pass is covered with prayers flags and there are few chortens as well. Mt. Tawache, Mt. Cholatse and, Cho La lake are the other attraction that can be seen from the top.
As we descend towards the Labuche, the trail is filled with melted ice and glaciers, which makes our trail more challenging. But at the same time, the more we descend, the views become more pleasant, stunning, and somehow easy as well. We will meet a small village called Dzongla on the way and from here, the easy grassy trail takes us to another beautiful village Lobuche. Overnight stayed at Labuche.
This is a big day for all the trekking enthusiasm who dreamed to trek to the base of the world’s highest mountain. The initial trek will be comparatively easy, as we don’t need to climb much uphill until Gorakshep. The trail will be rocky and craggy and walking along the Khumbu glacier until Base Camp. Almost, a 3hour hike takes us to the stunning small village above 5,000m and we will take rest for a few times including lunch before resuming our hike to base camp.
It will take another 3hour trek in a rocky moraine trail formed by glacial remains. The breathtaking view of Khumbu icefall, the tip of Everest, and glacier-covered with sky-touching mountains gives the extra charm to the base camp. If we are trekking during spring, we can meet 100s of climbers who are attempting to climb Everest and Lhotse. We came back to Gorakshep for the accommodation. Since we are at a higher altitude, proper diet, drink and rest are very important.
This will be another beautiful day and the most important day to watch the panoramic view of breathtaking mountains. We will wake up at 3-4 am in the morning and a 3hour trail uphill climb takes us to the summit of the Kalapatthar. Kalapatther means the mountain made by black rocks and this is the highest altitude (5,545m) we will climb in our entire trek. Kalapatthar is one of the most famous viewpoints for both sunset and sunrise over the world's highest point. Sunset is rare because the weather conditions during the evening in the mountains always remain foggy and covered with clouds snowfall.
Then, we will come back to Gorak Shep, take your breakfast and trek to Pheriche/Pangboche. The trail for today is just descending down and losing the altitude makes you more comfortable and less tired as well. Pheriche is the normal destination but if the group can still walk around 2hr more then we would extend up to Pangboche village.
Leaving the mountain behind us and taking a lot of memories, struggles, tears, happiness, and satisfaction in our heart and descending down to Pangboche, Tengboche monastery. Hiking down is significantly easier and sharing our experience and wish for the new trekkers that we will encounter on the way. We will celebrate today’s night with other trekkers as we will stay again in Namche. We still can explore Namche and interact with the locals about their lifestyle and Nepalese culture.
We will enjoy the final sight of the mountains from Namche. When we will descend towards Lukla, we will get the longest suspension bridge and the blow of morning winds makes beautiful moves of prayer flags on the bridge. After that, we will pass through several beautiful villages, which shows the mountain lifestyle, gives the reflection of Tibetian Buddhism, and the sound of the Dudh Koshi river thanks us with a warm goodbye. We will arrive in Lukla at around late afternoon. We can do a shower and make ourselves fresh and enjoy the last day in the mountains. Overnight stay at Lukla with warm and comfortable accommodation.
Our trek comes to an end today. As we take our early breakfast in Lukla and we will depart to the most extreme airport which lies nearby to our hotel. According to our flight schedule, we will get ready and leave the hotel. Enjoy the last glimpse of mountains and big hills from your window makes your final day in the mountains more cheerful. Enjoy the 35m scenic flight from Lukla to Namche and our guide will drop you to the hotel. Rest of the time, you can explore yourself. Overnight stays in Luxury hotel, Kathmandu.
After a few days of fun and excitement, the day to bid farewell has arrived. Our representatives will escort you to the Tribhuwan International Airport as per your flight time.
After the wonderful opportunity to organize this tour for you we wish you a safe and happy journey ahead.

Published: Wednesday, January 2, 2019Gokyo Lakes and Everest base camp trek is the most precious moment of Nepal that I will never forget. I have done and been doing lots of trekking around the world but that trekking in the Everest region is best I have done yet.
The route was so amazing where the giant views of gigantic mount Everest and other neighboring sky-touching peaks were all one way with us. We also visited several Sherpa villages and tried their traditional foods. Their traditional costumes are so nice and unique. Not so luxurious but hotel as compared to that high altitude and remoteness due to geographically challenging places were better and pretty nice too.
My trek was more memorable and enjoyable because of the efforts and arrangements of the luxury holidays Nepal Pvt. ltd and its team. They planned everything very well. Guide, porter, and equipment all were very good. They crossed my expectation in the trip arrangement. Thank you luxury holidays Nepal for adding more color in my Everest trekking memories.

Trip Extensions/ Add on trips:
If you like our service and you want to extend your trip, then we can further organize your trip to India, Bhutan and Tibet. And other trekking and activities of Nepal like Annapurna trek, Langtang Trek, Manaslu Trek, Bunjee Jumping, Rafting, Peak Climbing, Tours, etc.
Tips:
A general rule of thumb for tipping is from USD 40 to USD 70 per Traveler, depending on the length of the trek. Porters do appreciate a personal tip, although it is not uncommon for the Guide and his Porters to pool the tips they have collected before splitting it amongst themselves, with the Guide is getting a little more for overseeing the welfare and safety of both the Travelers and Porters as a whole. That said, this is just a guide and you may tip however much you think is appropriate for the services rendered which made your trip a memorable one.

Note:
1. Please note that often the Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu flight gets delayed by a few hours or may even be canceled for one, two, or more days due to unfavorable weather conditions. Such conditions may arise even in the best seasons. Hence, in such cases, you must be prepared for long waits either at Kathmandu or Lukla airports, as this can happen either at the start or end of the trek or even both! We will do our best to avoid such delays, and arrange the next flight for you. We also organize Helicopter rescue in such conditions, if it is available and upon request by our clients. The helicopter charges around USD 3500 and it can lift 4-5 persons per flight. Still, we suggest you be prepared for possible delays/cancellations, and if possible to come with some extra days (1-2 days) at the end of the trip to accommodate such delays. If everything runs smoothly and you still have extra days then you may even engage yourself in optional activities that can be arranged by Luxury Holidays Nepal upon request. The optional activities may include visiting places/landmarks of your choice, adventure sports, shopping, etc.
In case the flight delay/cancellation happens at the start of the trip and it goes so long that it disturbs your onward travel schedule, you are free to choose an alternative trip such as a trek in the Annapurna, Langtang, or any other region. If you are not interested in the alternative trip and would rather wait for your original preferred trip, you are welcome to wait in Kathmandu for as many days as it takes to get a flight to Lukla. However, please note that there will be no refund if you lose time waiting at the airport and do not take an alternative tour or you only do a short trek later due to time limitation. If the cancellation happens before the trip, we will provide you accommodation and lunch in a guesthouse in Kathmandu. In case of the flight delay/cancellation after finishing the trek, you will be responsible for all your expenses. Please also note that you will not be entitled to any refund for the services (such as hotel, transportation, flight, etc.) included in the package that you would not use later.
2. During the trip; weather, local politics, transport or other factors, which are beyond our control can result in a change of itinerary. It is however very unlikely that the itinerary would be substantially altered. If alterations are necessary the leader will decide what the best alternative is taking into consideration the best interests of the whole group. Where a change does occur, we do everything we can to minimize its effect.
