Trekking in the Langtang Valley is a journey into the beautiful remote valley of Langtang with its snowcapped mountains, high mountain lakes and the beautiful Kyanjin Gompa. The trail follows one of the most unspoiled Langtang National Park to near the Tibetan border and is the most easily accessible highland sanctuary in the country. This beautiful valley is surrounded by the snow-capped mountains. The peak of Langtang and Lirung (7246m) dominates the skyline while thick forests, lush farmland, traditional villages and the deep gorges of the Bhote Koshi and the Langtang Khola prevails the valley floor.
The natural vegetation consists of colorful rhododendron, oak, alder trees and maple. It is home to an array of wildlife; wild boar, ghoral, Himalayan black bears, musk deer, grey langur monkeys, leopards, Tibetian snow cock, snow partridge and the endangered red panda. Mesmerizing Himalayan beauty, pristine trekking trails through a splendid environment and an insight into the traditions of the Tibetan influenced local people, all make this trek a completely unforgettable.
Langtang Valley Trek begins from Syabrubesi after 8-9 hours long drive with the local bus. Optionally, you can go with a private jeep which is more comfortable. The trail then follows into the lush forest of Langtang National Park along the Langtang River. On the trail, you will astonish to see green pastures, valleys and friendly local people. And, finally, get to mesmerizing Langtang Valley surrounded by glaciers and mountain peaks. Then you will further trek to Kyanjing Gompa and backtrack along the same trail to Syabrubesi. Again, you will take a long drive back to Kathmandu to end our Langtang Valley Trek.

After arriving in Kathmandu, a representative from Luxury Holidays Nepal will pick up from the airport and take to your hotel. In the afternoon, you may take a rest or visit Luxury Holidays Nepal’s office. At evening, we host a pre-trip meeting at your hotel in Kathmandu and introduce your tour and trekking guide. Please seek this opportunity to ask questions about your trip. This includes a final briefing and preparations for the trip. For the meeting, please make sure you bring your passport, three copies of passport-size photos, and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. During the meeting, please clear the due balance, if any. Please inform us in advance if you will be arriving late and therefore are unable to attend the pre-trip meeting. After the pre-trip meeting, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Luxury Holidays Nepal. For dinner, you will be served authentic Nepalese cuisine, which will introduce you to the country’s food culture. Overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, your sightseeing trip will start. You will have a private vehicle and a professional tour guide for your sightseeing tour. You will visit the following sites.
Swyambunath Stupa - The Monkey Temple (World Heritage Site):
You can watch over the valley from the top of a hillock on its western side. Swyambhu is also known as Samhengu and the Monkey temple because of the countless monkeys living in the premises.
Pashupatinath Temple (World Heritage Site):
Pashupatinath Temple is one of the holiest Hindu temples of Nepal. It is located on the banks of Bagmati River on the eastern outskirts of Kathmandu. Pashupatinath is the most important temple dedicated to god Shiva.
Boudhanath Stupa is 2500 years old Buddhist stupa in the Valley built in the 5th century with four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha in four cardinal directions keeping an eternal watch over the people and their doings. You will find Buddhist pilgrims from Tibet going round the stupa spinning the prayer wheels.
Patan Durbar Square (World Heritage Site):
Patan Durbar Square - located in central of city Lalitpur. It displays the Newari architecture that had reached its pinnacle during the reign of Malla kings who were great builders and patrons of the arts.
The rest of your time is free for further exploration and some shopping nearby your hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Early in the morning, drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi which takes about eight to nine hours by public bus. Driving through scenic foothills and Ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi passing Dhunche, you’ll get a glimpse of Ganesh Himal after driving along the mighty Trishuli river. Terraced green hills and lush forests make the drive very pleasurable. Overnight at Syabru Besi.
The first part of the trail crosses through the Bhote Koshi river and follows the Langtang Khola. This trail gradually ascends up to Bamboo (1,960m) passing rugged paths. Afterwards, your trek climbs gently to Rimche (2,400m) through Bamboo which lies at the bank of Langtang Khola. You can have lunch at this place if you like and at the end your trail is the Lama Hotel. En route you could see red pandas, monkeys and bears if you are lucky.
The trek route follows Gumanechok at Ghoda Tabela which literally means the Horse Stable. After this the trail climbs gradually to the beautiful valley with yaks about. Langtang is a typical village and one of the oldest along this trekking route. The views of the mountains are spectacular and become more imposing as well trek closer.
It is a shorter walk, but adequate for acclimatizing. There are some interesting things to explore, especially the famous cheese factory – don’t forget to try some locally produced cheese as fresh as it could get. This beautiful valley is on the lap of the Langtang Lirung. This is the spot where you can explore the valley and climbs several small peaks (hillocks).
This day is rest day to explore the area. You can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri (4,350m) which is the highest point of this trek, directly behind the village, for a breathtaking panorama of the Langtang peaks.
Rejoin the trail to Lama Hotel. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Leaving the mountains behind you descent takes to the Sybru Bensi where your trek started a week earlier. Overnight at a guesthouse.
After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu from Sybru Bensi which will take some 9 hours. There is a farewell dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances. You have the option to extend your trip to continue onto rafting adventure, Kathmandu valley shopping tour, mountain biking and other activities.
After a few days of fun and excitement, the day to bid farewell has arrived. Our representatives will escort you to Tribhuwan International Airport as per your flight time.

We were very lucky to get Krishna Thapa for our Langtang valley trekking. He was very experienced and knowledgeable and was great about pointing out peaks, distinguishing flora and fauna. From Kyanjing Gompa we had amazing day hike to the Tserko-Ri at 5033 meters. We felt hard to breath in a thin air after long 5 hour walk to the top. From the top, views were incredible of langtang mountains range.
We had a blast every night playing cards and hanging out with our best guides and porters! We had such a great time with him that we were lucky to have Ramesh as a porter for this trek, and he kept us smiling throughout the trek with his silly jokes. Luxury Holidays Nepal provides you 4-star hotels in Kathmandu and Teahouse/Lodge throughout the journey. Teahouse and lodge have the rooms with just the basics, normally with a bed, blanket and pillows. Some rooms have the electric lighting system and every teahouse/lodge has a capacious dining room and lounge. We will provide you and your group at the lodge which is locally available every day (In some places rooms cannot be booked in advance). If you want to upgrade accommodation in cities, then contact us for cost detail. Accommodation in 4 stars hotel Kathmandu(Hotel Mulberry or similar category) and for 5 stars hotel in Kathmandu (Gokarna Forest Resort or similar category).
Throughout the trip of Mountain Trekking, your luggage are carried and moved by the porters. You should carry the water bottle, sunscreen, camera, spare jacket, etc. Your main luggage will be your trekking bag and you can carry a small lockable bag which will provide safety. You are provided with a free locker room in the hotel of Kathmandu.
Food on the way (Journey):
Your all meals are Included in the price. Travelers take their breakfast and dinner at the tea house where they stay and lunch is taken during the trail in the local lodge.
Transportation on Journey:

This Trek is the trekking in the remote area so there may not be the full facilities of the telephone. But during the trail, you can find the telephone and internet facilities in most of the place.

We need time to purchase your domestic air ticket and make other arrangements so please confirm your spot on a tour at least 2 months prior to the commencement of the tour. You can get a visa in Kathmandu airport upon arrival for $25 USD (or equivalent in other major currencies) for a 15 days visa or $40 USD for a 30 days visa. Please bring 2 photos for the visa. When and where should you arrive?
Please book your international flight to arrive and depart from Kathmandu international airport. The tour starts with an orientation meeting at about 5 pm on the first night of the tour and ends on after the scheduled trip after breakfast.
You will be received outside the Kathmandu international airport terminal by representatives holding a "Luxury Holidays Nepal" sign card and he will escort you to the Hotel.

Currencies are accepted in Nepal:
Some major currencies (USD, AUD, and EURO) are accepted for both visa and in general. There are plenty of ATM's in Kathmandu and credit cards are accepted in limited shops and many restaurants. Please note that only Nepali rupees are accepted on the trek.
The altitude sickness will get from 3000 meters. Normally below three 3000 meters will not have altitude related problems usually for people for stable health. But above it can cause altitude-related sickness. If you have a health condition which might cause problems, please consult a doctor about the advisability of doing the trek. For Your information, your traveling guide will also have pills for Altitude Sickness and other basic medicine. We recommend you to take pills for diarrhea, cold, fever and nausea.
We do not hope that there may arise any serious problem for you in your journey, but if you get caught by serious illness, then we will do our best to take you to the nearest hospital possible. But you will be responsible for all the expenses that take place in the evacuation process. So, it is good for you to have insurance which will cover your cost. Be Insured. A general rule of thumb for tipping is to USD 40 to USD 70 per Traveler, depending on the length of the trek. Porters do appreciate a personal tip, although it is not uncommon for the Guide and his Porters to pool the tips they have collected before splitting it amongst themselves, with the Guide is getting a little more for overseeing the welfare and safety of both the Travelers and Porters as a whole. That said, this is just a guide and you may tip however much you think is appropriate for the services rendered which made your trip a memorable one.
