Mera peak is the highest among peaks that are described as “trekking peaks” of Nepal. The peak resides in the Mahalangur section of the Everest Region, standing at an elevation of 6,476m, the peak has three subsidiaries namely Mera North(6,476m), Mera Central(6,461m), Mera South(6,065) respectively. The trekking trails are thorough and constant with less chance of impacts in contrast to other peaks. The route of the Mera peak is not technically demanding but it involves high-altitude glacier walking from the north. The most demanding region of the peak is west and south faces with slanted steps that require a thorough study of the geographical structure in order to successfully conquer the peak. The peak is considered as a trekking peak, any level of trekkers or climbers with little experience would be able to reach the summit successfully as it is not mandatory but an advantage in hand. The Waterfalls, speedy rivers, rocky & rough trails, Yeti Scalp, Mani, and prayer flags are some of the attractions seen during the expedition of Mera Peak.
Before the expedition, everyone dreaming of climbing a peak will strongly be recommended to engage in at least a 7-week fitness program before the trip starts. The physical state of you would examine whether your physical status would be able to stand the type of climate or any kind of challenges that you might face. The strong suggestion would be to run over a hill twice a day which will increase your blood circulation that results in receiving more oxygen in the system, which is a tough task to maintain while climbing a peak. The different panoramic views that can be seen during the expedition are mountains including Mt. Everest, Mt. Cho-Oyu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Baruntse, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Nuptse, Chamlang.
The peak climbing will be started on a scheduled itinerary where the beginning of the trip will be followed by sightseeing in the Capital City of Nepal- Kathmandu. UNESCO World Heritage sites of Kathmandu valley name Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Patan durbar squares, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Changu Narayan Temple. Each ancient sculpture of Nepal is historically important and is believed to have formed during the period 800 BC. The peak climbing however would be started from a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Tenzing –Hillary Airport at Lukla where we will reach Paiya bypassing Chutok La Pass. Likewise, we follow the path of the peak for the rest of the expedition.
Mera peak standing at an elevation of 6476m is considered one of the best peaks to the summit as a trekking peak. The expected 19 days of climbing is not that tough due to its slope not being prone to avalanche however summiting a peak of that altitude is a challenge in itself. The peak is in the Sagarmatha national park zone which makes it a privileged peak to conquer.
The Mera peak lies on the stubborn lap of the Everest region which makes the view from the summit a glimpse of a lifetime. The peak views include panoramic views of the Himalayas including Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Kanchenjunga and Lhotse respectively which are some of the tallest mountains on the earth.
During your journey of climbing to Mera peak, you will be passing through some amazing Sherpa villages. They are historically and culturally very important. You will be experiencing the sherpa hospitality with a sight to their cultural and religious aspects of life. You’ll be getting to know about Monasteries, temples, prayers, flags, and many more that might inspire you to become more of yourself and it is a great way of spiritual healing.
Mera peak is an astoundingly beautiful peak that you can summit during the period of late April, May, late September, October, and November. However, the summit to the peak is a little tricky as often the weather can drastically change during any time however the common period of time would be Spring and Autumn. The weather during the period of spring and autumn is pleasant on normal days which is obviously a great sign to summit those beautiful peaks.

Tips:
A general rule of thumb for tipping is from USD 40 to USD 70 per Traveler, depending on the length of the trek. Porters do appreciate a personal tip, although it is not uncommon for the Guide and his Porters to pool the tips they have collected before splitting it amongst themselves, with the Guide is getting a little more for overseeing the welfare and safety of both the Travelers and Porters as a whole. That said, this is just a guide and you may tip however much you think is appropriate for the services rendered which made your trip a memorable one.

Note:
1. Please note that often the Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu flight gets delayed by a few hours or may even be canceled for one, two, or more days due to unfavorable weather conditions. Such conditions may arise even in the best seasons. Hence, in such cases, you must be prepared for long waits either at Kathmandu or Lukla airports, as this can happen either at the start or end of the trek or even both! We will do our best to avoid such delays, and arrange the next flight for you. We also organize Helicopter rescue in such conditions, if it is available and upon request by our clients. The helicopter charges around USD 3500 and it can lift 4-5 persons per flight. Still, we suggest you be prepared for possible delays/cancellations, and if possible to come with some extra days (1-2 days) at the end of the trip to accommodate such delays. If everything runs smoothly and you still have extra days then you may even engage yourself in optional activities which can be arranged by Luxury Holidays Nepal upon request. The optional activities may include visiting places/landmarks of your choice, adventure sports, shopping, etc.
In case the flight delay/cancellation happens at the start of the trip and it goes so long that it disturbs your onward travel schedule, you are free to choose an alternative trip such as a trek in the Annapurna, Langtang, or any other region. If you are not interested in the alternative trip and would rather wait for your original preferred trip, you are welcome to wait in Kathmandu for as many days as it takes to get a flight to Lukla. However, please note that there will be no refund if you lose time waiting at the airport and do not take an alternative tour or you only do a short trek later due to time limitations. If the cancellation happens before the trip, we will provide you with accommodation and lunch in a guesthouse in Kathmandu. In case of a flight delay/cancellation after finishing of the trek, you will be responsible for all your expenses. Please also note that you will not be entitled to any refund for the services (such as hotel, transportation, flight, etc.) included in the package that you would not use later.
2. During the trip; weather, local politics, transport or other factors, that are beyond our control can result in a change of itinerary. It is however very unlikely that the itinerary would be substantially altered. If alterations are necessary the leader will decide what is the best alternative taking into consideration the best interests of the whole group. Where a change does occur, we do everything we can to minimize its effect.
