Here is the list of travel information for Dubai. 

Visa Application 

Based on your nationality, one can get an arrival visa. Or else, before leaving for travel, you can apply from Dubai Immigration for a prearranged visit visa

Approval For Tourist Travelling To The Dubai UAE

The tourists departing to the UAE do not need approval from ICA or GDRFA

The following countries must follow the specific protocols for traveling to the UAE:

  • India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Zambia, Sudan, South Africa, Nigeria

Requirements for passengers traveling to Dubai or through the Dubai connect from these countries

  • Certificate of legally conducted negative COVID-19 PCR test along with a QR code for the test done within 48 hours, the validity of the sample is starting to calculate from the time of its collection, before departure from the authorized health facility. 

Travel to passengers from Nigeria to Dubai as the final destination is currently not possible. As of the lack of rapid PCR testing facilities at the airport. 

Requirements For All Travelers Landing In Dubai

Passengers landing from any point of origin GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) must come with a negative COVID-19 test conducted by an authorized company within 72 hours before departure, except for travelers from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Uganda, Zambia, South Africa, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Vietnam (for which particular travel requirements are stated above)

Requirements for Traveling to Dubai from India

One must come with a certificate of RT- PCR test. In addition, one must come with certificates of antibody tests, Rapid PCR tests, and NHS COVID tests. Home testing kits are not valid. Travelers must have digital certificates or official printed certificates in English or Arabic while checking-in-SMS certificates are not valid. PCR certificates accepted at the original station in any language are admissible. 

Indians with a normal passport who are traveling from or traveling to India through Dubai can get a visa on arrival in Dubai for a living 14 days maximum provided they: 

  • Are with a green card or visitor visa of the United States, or 

  • A residence visa of the European Union or the United Kingdom. 

A valid visa for a minimum of 6 months issued by the UK, USA, or EU is acceptable. 

Certificates of the COVID-19 RT-PCR test must be from the legalized facility in the departure country of the passengers. Certificates, which have been used previously for visiting another destination are not acceptable to enter again even though their validity period is yet to expire. 

Requirements for the Passengers from Indonesia, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Lebanon

COVID-19 PCR report, including QR code related to the original report, is mandatory for the confirmation process. The QR code must be shown at the time of check-in and to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA)’s representatives upon arrival at the airport of Dubai. 

Test on Arrival at Dubai 

The passengers arriving from the following countries in Dubai International airport must go for another COVID-19 PCR test on arrival. 

Nepal, India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Lebanon, Georgia, Ghana, Iraq, Nigeria, Kenya, Morocco, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Vietnam, Djibouti, Angola, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Chile, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Ukraine, Vietnam, Slovakia, Turkey, Zambia, Uzbekistan, Zimbabwe, Cambodia, Rwanda, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Eritrea, Cambodia, Jordan, Romania, Syria, Djibouti, Philippines, Chile, Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Somaliland, Senegal, Rwanda, Argentina, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Guinea, Kenya, Myanmar, Namibia, Pakistan, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, South Sudan, Turkey, Tanzania, Uganda, 

Test Exemptions: 

  • Nationals from UAE are exempt from taking a COVID-19 PCR test before heading to Dubai. Instead, they must do a PCR test on arrival in Dubai, regardless of whether they are with a valid COVID-19 RT-PCR certificate from the place of departure. This testing process is applicable for: 

  • Passengers go along with the UAE nationals’ first-degree domestic workers or relatives. 

  • Domestic workers during travel Sponsored escorting a national sponsor of UAE. 

  • Children below 12 years and passengers with a moderate or acute disability are not allowed to take a COVID-19 RT-PCR test.

  • Moderate or acute disability comprises development or intellectual disabilities and neurological disorders. For example: Down Syndrome, Cerebral palsy, Acute Spinal cord injury, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, Cerebral palsy, and seizures. 

  • The rest of the passengers, including those who are physically challenged, with hearing impaired, or who are visually impaired, must be with a certificate of negative COVID-19 RT-PCR. 

  • In addition, specific tests may be there in the country of your departure and to the final destination. 

  • Please go through the basic listed requirements by destinations before heading to Dubai.

COVID-19 RT-PCR Testing Laboratories:

  • The Dubai government has set up specifically selected laboratories from different parts of the world. You can either use the selected laboratories or any other certified and trusted laboratories in the country of your origin for the COVIOD-19 RT-PCR test. 

  • The flights from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, or Nigeria accept certificates only from the designated laboratories. 

  • You must have a PCR-test certificate from the listed designated laboratories if you are flying from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, or Nigeria. 

On Arrival 

  • Another COVID-19 PCR Test may be needed when you arrive. You must stay in your residence or hotel if you take a test at the airport on arrival until you get the test result. 

  • If the COVID test is positive, you have to follow the guidelines of the Dubai Health Authority. 

  • Also, the COVID19-DXB app on Android- iPhone must be downloaded. 

Traveling From Germany, Switzerland, France, and Spain to Dubai

Effective from 31 October 2021 to until new notice: All travelers traveling from Germany, Spain, Switzerland, or France will be accepted if the following conditions are met. 

  • If the person is with the Negative COVID-PCR test certificates taken within 72 hours prior to departure


  • If a person gives a vaccination certificate for administration in their respective country or the United Arab Emirates. 

The vaccination certificate(s) must present the completion of the required vaccine dose approved by the WHO and approved by the respective country or UAE. 

Traveling From United Kingdom to Dubai

Passengers from the United Kingdom must come with a certificate of negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours before departing and must take an RT-PCR test. 

Note: Dubai doesn’t accept the NHS COVID certificates from the United Kingdom.

Transition Through Dubai

All Passengers for Dubai transit must come with all the requirements of their ending destination.

 Passengers for transit from the following countries must show the certificates of the COVID-19 PCR test done within 72 hours before departure:

  • India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia, South Africa, Vietnam. 

Passengers from transit from the above-listed countries with a Dubai transit and Dubai connecting booking time of more than 10 hours must show a certificate of negative COVID-19 PCR test along with a QR code for the test done in between 48 hours of the time from an officially authorized health facility. Also, the passengers must present a report of the Rapid PCR test with a QR code taken at the departure airport in between six hours of departure. 

A transit passenger from Ethiopia must show a test certificate of negative COVID-19 for the test conducted within 72 hours before departure. 

All other transit passengers are not needed to present COVID-19 test certificates. Except it is mandatory from their final destination. 

Traveling To Abu Dhabi From Dubai

Effective from 19 September 2021 until further notice.

A COVID-19 test is not required at the border traveling to Abu Dhabi for those UAE citizens, tourists, and residents who are fully vaccinated, as registered on the Al Hosn App. You must be vaccinated for two doses of the same vaccine for at least 28 days of leaving to be considered fully vaccinated. 

Note: Although people traveling from Dubai to Abu Dhabi are no longer required to present a test result, s/he will still need to have a; green status registered on the AI Hosn app to go into public places. Fully vaccinated peoples remain green on the Al Hosn app until they have done the COVID-19 PCR Test at a regular interval of 30 days. 

Tourist Leaving From Dubai 

Visitors Departing from Dubai will need to do COVID-19 PCR tests only if it is compulsory in the respective country they are visiting. 

  • Please look over the requirements of the country you are flying to. The regulations for travel often change. You may need to get a COVID-19 test from the authorized health facility specified by the respective destination. 

  • You can test from the authorized COVID-19 test laboratories in Dubai before leaving for a particular destination. 

Rapid COVID-19 test at Dubai International airport for departing to China

All passengers traveling to China from Dubai, excluding children below one year, must have a negative certificate of the rapid COVID-19 test before departure. One must report to the check-in counter before five hours of flight and 11Wget the test at the 3 departure areas of Emirates Terminal, Dubai International airport, and nearby costa. Specific COVID-19 Test Costs for UAE Passengers

UAE has grown its medical partnership to provide exclusive services of home or COVID-19 PCR testing speed to the passengers at the following centers: 

  • Prime Medical Centre 

        Located in differents streets of Dubai

  • Prime Medical Center, Sharjah Branch, King Faisal St, Al Majaz

  • Premier Diagnostic and Medical Center at Salah Al-Din Street

  • Ajman Branch at Grand Mall, Sheikh Khalifa St

  • Al Qusais Branch at Damascus Street

The test per person costs AED 150. Office testing or home testing inside Dubai is also available for at least two passengers at the cost of AED 240 per person. COVID-19 PCR test results will be obtainable in between 24 hours.

  • Al Badawi Medical Centre

  • Based at Al Masaood Building, Port Saeed Area, Airport Road, Deira. 

  • The COVID-19 PCR test price per person costs AED 130.

  • It costs 240 per person in an office or home testing.
