What is Visit Nepal 2020? #VisitNepal2020
After the successful Visit Nepal Year 1998 and Nepal Tourism Year 2011, the Tourism Board of Nepal has finally introduced the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign. It is a tourism fest in the beautiful Himalayan country of Nepal. The campaign was initially planned to be held in 2018 but was postponed due to various reasons.
Why the year 2020?
Earlier Tourism Ministry had announced the year 2018 as the tourism year. But it was put off due to the delay in the construction of airports, heritage sites and roads. They awaited expansion of Tribhuwan International Airport, construction of Gautam Buddha Airport, and import of the first 2 Wide Body Planes for Nepal Airlines Corporation. Now the wide-body planes have arrived in Nepal, they will do international flights which will also help to increase tourist influx.
The private hotel sector has planned to add 4200 new rooms in five-star and four-star category in the major cities of Nepal, Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan. Many new international chain hotels, Hilton, DoubleTree, Marriott, are expected to operate soon. The travel industry is gradually expanding significantly in Nepal with a number of travelers and travel destinations, hotels and infrastructures growing significantly over the recent years.
Is it worth the visit?
