The weather in Nepal varies significantly depending on the season and region:

    • Autumn (September to November): Best trekking season with clear skies and mild temperatures.
    • Spring (March to May): Warm temperatures, blooming rhododendrons, and good visibility.
    • Winter (December to February): Cold temperatures, especially in high altitudes, but clear skies.
    • Monsoon (June to August): Rainy and humid, with occasional disruptions in flights and trail conditions.

For this trek, autumn and spring are ideal due to stable weather and optimal trekking conditions. Prepare for cold mornings and evenings in the Mustang region.

    Cultural Considerations

Nepal is rich in culture and tradition, and respecting local customs enhances your experience:

    • Greetings: Use "Namaste" with a slight bow as a respectful gesture.
    • Temple Etiquette: Remove shoes before entering religious sites. Avoid touching statues or sacred objects unless permitted.
    • Clothing: Dress modestly, covering shoulders and knees, especially in villages and temples.
    • Photography: Always ask for permission before taking photos of people, monasteries, or religious ceremonies.
    • Gift Giving: Offering small gifts to children is discouraged to prevent dependency. Instead, consider donating to local schools or communities.

Your guides will help you navigate these cultural nuances.

    Tipping Guidelines

Tipping is a common and appreciated gesture in Nepal, especially in the tourism sector:

Trek Staff: Guide: USD 10–15 per day. Porter: USD 5–10 per day.
    Drivers: USD 5–10 per day.
Restaurants: Tip 5–10% of the total bill in mid-range to high-end establishments.
Hotel Staff: USD 1–2 for housekeeping or bellboys.

While tipping is not mandatory, it is a way to show gratitude for excellent service. Distribute tips directly to individuals or through your guide.

    Safety & Security

Your safety is a top priority throughout the journey:

    • During the Trek: Follow your guide’s instructions. Avoid trekking alone or venturing off marked trails.

Luxury Holidays Nepal ensures all safety protocols are met during transport, trekking, and accommodation.

    Currency and Money Matters

Currency: The local currency is the Nepalese Rupee (NPR).
Exchange Rates: 1 USD ≈ 130 NPR (approx., subject to fluctuation).

Credit Cards: Accepted in major cities and high-end hotels but not on the trek.
Cash: Carry enough small denominations for expenses during the trek (e.g., tips, beverages, and snacks).
